And I am back with a review!
My all time favorite Zariya Ranmaru work is Void, so needless to say I have a pretty high expectation for Coyote. At the same time, I got excited when I found out that it was going to have an official English translation. (Thank you BL manga gods, aka SuBLime!) We do not have enough BL mangas translated into English, so any news about BL mangas being licensed / picked up for English release is always welcome!

The story:
A forbidden romance between a werewolf and a human whose passion conceals a dark secret.
Coyote, a werewolf, goes through life hiding his true identity. But when a handsome human pianist catches him in heat, forbidden passion explodes.
Coyote avoids getting too involved with humans in order to conceal the fact that he's a werewolf. But Marlene, a pianist at a bar he frequents, is interested in him and just won't take no for an answer. When Coyote suddenly goes into heat for the first time, Marlene catches him while he's unable to maintain his human form and offers up a tempting invitation. Coyote wants to resist Marlene, but can he?
Forbidden supernatural romance between a werewolf and a human.

Ohhh, the intrigue.
I have so many questions right after I flipped to the first page. Who's Lili? Who's Marleen? And then it starts.
The secrecy surrounding both Marleen and Lili's identities kept me reading. There's a sense of foreboding, where you're just waiting for the ball to drop and see if the connection between the two of them will be revealed. I love how the first volume held out key revelations while the story keeps on moving forward. Zariya's got the pacing done right here, the story gives way to little secrets that makes readers eagerly anticipate that scene where everything will be revealed... which probably won't happen until volume 2.
The smut scenes in Zariya's works are always my favorite. I love how it's always artfully drawn and just by looking at it, you feel the tension, passion and feelings both Marleen and Lili have in that moment when they were joined as one. It's hot, and totally well drawn. A real feast for the eyes!
I am genuinely curious to know how the fact that there is more to Lili and Marleen being a werewolf and human will change not just the dynamics of their relationship but resolve the main conflict as well. They're like Romeo and Juliet in a sense, both from rival clans who should've never fallen in love. Will Marleen continue pursuing Lili against all odds, despite who he is? Will Lili be able to look past Marleen's blood ties, his real identity and the role he plays in the conflict between werewolves and humans? There's so many things to consider, and I am looking forward to seeing how the story will unfold. There's so much to look forward to!
Buy it or skip it?
Definitely BUY IT. Zariya's stories will appeal to readers in a sense that it gives a lot. You want smut? Check. You want a good story with a solid plot? Check. Artfully drawn eye candies? Check. Feelings? Angst? Intrigue? Check check check.
